Question about epim pro 26

not sure which v26 was the one working+installing without admin rights, mabe beta and one of the finals.
if dont fix it for the actual exe, could need extra portable versions, like all time before

it didnt happened even after the portable and installer version got into one exe/installer.
hope we fix it soon, i dont have time to work on this issue.
i use since ever the portable version for every test and am now not testing v26, as of this issue.
i found and helped to fix huge bugs from same family, which costed me very much time but dondt test till we fix this.
there is no need for admin rights and even less for portable versions.
in worst case we need to split portable and installable again in two separate istaller.

i had to check some 12.5.6 bugs in v26 but have to postpone it till this is resolved

This build uses the same installer type as version 12.x and earlier, so there have been no changes in that area compared to the previous versions you referred to in your opening post.

No, I tried installing Epim Pro 12.5.6. Upon launch, the setup opens without any problems. From there, I can choose to install the portable version.
The build you shared, however, requires an administrator username and password.

i'm not sure i can check each version back till 12.5.6.
you made a change or one of above cause it, my suspicion.
we had quite fast an angry thread about this after v26 came and i'm quite sure one since then was working as ever, and some of the betas before rc i think.

The same thing happens to me.
I was only able to install version 26.0.1 of EPIM Pro Portable.
I’ve tested versions 26.0.2, 26.0.3, 26.0.4, and 26.0.5. All of them require administrator privileges.
I recall that I also couldn't install the beta versions released prior to version 26 for the same reason. Only version 26.0.1 installed as it should.
Since I use EPIM at work and am not the administrator, I simply don't update the software.

I hope this gets fixed soon.

The phenomenon occurred with the change of ownership. American companies are often a bit more data-hungry and probably need administrative rights to ensure the flow of data?

With older versions, the installation process "first" asked which version should be installed - desktop or portable. If the desktop version was chosen, administrative rights were demanded.

BUT, according to the admin, the installation process was "supposedly (?)" not changed !?

I therefore recommend installing the portable version in a sandbox. The installation folder can then be copied from the sandbox to any drive.

like LuisF said, it seem like they reverted it in v26.0.1 back to old behaviour, after users complaints and now activated it again to request admin rights.
M&M, after the silent company change users trust even less and may think like you describe.

its not funny and will result in lost of top dedicated supporter of epim, which are not many here and very important to keep them, as otherwise epim gets stuck.
i hope epim see the importance of top dedicated users helping much improve and spending their preciouse free time, and makes it work as ever, with portable version integrated or separate portable version, like since ever - however it works like expected and ever.
epim should resolve it ASAP.

i contributed very much and found and helped resolve a family of hard bugs but lose my paitiance - like other top voluntary helper.
i got a top idea to solve or improve things in epim and need to check and compare bugs and things between v12 and 26 but this kills it.
i dont get to use or experiment with sandboxes or do rocket science as my time is limited, to get all things done.
i have maybe another workaround but not sure i can invest extra time

Maybe that's exactly what's wanted?

On this topic, hopefully, the next update will have a solution ready, as the presentation of "admin" varies from topic to topic? Sometimes there were no changes to the installation process and on the other hand, the installation process was revised?
