We're excited to let you know that EPIM is taking a big step forward. Astonsoft Ltd. (the company behind the original development of EPIM) and /n software, Inc. (a leading provider of enterprise-grade software components and development technologies) have joined forces to create a new company: EPIM Technologies, Inc. This step marks the beginning of a new phase in the development of EPIM, bringing additional resources and long-term opportunities.

Before we talk about anything else, we'd like to clearly emphasize what matters most to our users:

We're happy to announce the release of EPIM Mail and EPIM Pro version 26.0.1. This update brings a set of small but useful improvements and fixes aimed at making everyday work with EPIM smoother and more predictable.

This update adds the option to display message size in the Card View of the Mail message list and ensures that Mail templates are no longer removed from their folder after being used. It also improves how Line Numbers and Rulers settings are handled in Notes (now remembered per leaf). You can also choose between the new and classic EPIM icons, alongside a number of additional bug fixes and UI tweaks to further improve stability and overall usability.

As usual, the update is available via the Download Free page and through automatic updates in EPIM.

We’re pleased to announce the release of EPIM 26, a major update that delivers powerful improvements across Mail, Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Contacts and the overall user experience.

This version focuses on three key goals: better email workflows, greater clarity and control, and a more consistent, modern interface across the entire application.

More Powerful and Secure Mail in EPIM

Mail in EPIM 26 receives one of the most significant updates to date.

The new version introduces PGP/MIME support, allowing you to send and receive encrypted emails in rich text format with proper attachment handling. This ensures a higher level of privacy and confidence when working with sensitive information.

We’re pleased to announce the availability of EPIM Mail and EPIM Pro 12.5.6!

This update focuses on refining the experience across the 12.5.x series. It delivers improved automatic mail server configuration when adding new mail accounts, along with a collection of fixes and subtle refinements that help make EPIM smoother and more reliable than ever.

As 2025 comes to an end, we celebrate two milestones. A quarter of this century is behind us (the Year 2000 frenzy was 25 years ago!), and EssentialPIM reached its 20th anniversary.

Preceded by several beta versions beginning in December 2004, EssentialPIM v1.0 rolled out on February 28, 2005 (Figure 1).

Twenty years later, we end 2025 at v12.5.4, and there have been significant developments. Let's review them, summarize this year's software changes, and then preview a few changes in the next major release, EPIM v26.0.

We're excited to announce the immediate availability of EPIM Mail and EPIM Pro 12.5.5!

This update focuses on improving stability and addressing issues reported since the previous release, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience for all users. Key enhancements include the ability to switch between modules using the common Ctrl+Tab shortcut, improved handling of user-set dark backgrounds in email messages, better export of contacts from selected groups and refinements to Calendar copy/paste functionality. We've also fixed visibility issues on high DPI settings in Windows and implemented general stability improvements.

We strongly encourage all users to upgrade to this version. If you haven't enabled automatic updates yet, now is the perfect time! Go to Tools -> Options -> General and make sure the "Automatically check for updates" option is enabled.

We're excited to announce the release of both EPIM Mail and EPIM Pro 12.5.4!

This update brings a range of enhancements, including additional details (such as priorities and categories) now shown in the reminder window for events and tasks, improved integration with Yahoo Mail, support for choosing a default calendar and the ability to use certain Mail Rule actions multiple times within a single rule.

This release also includes several important fixes, such as correcting dark backgrounds in email messages, ensuring deleted items are grouped properly in Trash and resolving rare freezes that could occur when using Mail.

Paulette will retire in six months and is learning that she has a lot to coordinate.

There are suggested tasks, a schedule, and contacts for government agencies and employee services.

A long-time user of EPIM Pro, Paulette is familiar with its features. Still, she is concerned that preparing for retirement will require more organization than she has used so far in EPIM. She surmises that categories and tags may help and has researched online for tips.¹

EssentialPIM has issued its second major release of 2025—version 12.5.

I wrote last time that EPIM 12.5 introduced too many significant enhancements for one post and focused on changes that affect the appearance and streamline certain functions.
